Yes, Cambodia is generally a safe travel destination for tourists. Locals are friendly and the crime rate is low.

November - April
The best time to visit Cambodia is during the dry season, from November to April. During these months, the weather is warm and sunny, with little rain. The shoulder seasons, May to June and September to October, can also be pleasant, with fewer crowds and lower prices.

The currency of Cambodia is the riel (KHR), but the US Dollar is also widely used. In general, smaller purchases (less than $10) are made with Riel, and larger purchases are made with the Dollar. Be aware that US Dollars with any kind of damage will not be accepted. If you’re given change and notice that any dollars you received have rips in them, do not hesitate to ask for bills that are not damaged.

Visa Process for Cambodia

Most nationalities will need to get a tourist visa (which costs about $36) in advance to visit Cambodia. This single-entry tourist visa takes a few days to be approved and will allow you to stay in Cambodia for 30 days. Don’t forget to print out your visa before entering Cambodia (most lounges/hotels in airports will have printers).
